My name is Yolande Matoré Hoisington. I
am a nutrition and lifestyle consultant. I am
also a cooking class instructor in the Seattle
area. I am dedicated to sharing my philosophy
about the fine art of living well and cooking by
teaching you how to live a healthy, balanced,
unhurried, and inclusive life. Family, friends,
and the camaraderie of creating and presenting a
bountiful table are essential to a way of
life that requires beauty as well as
substance; relaxation as well as
activity; discipline as well as an open
expression of joie de vivre - joy of life.
I practice healthy lifestyle coaching with a
French twist - the belief that good health
is a mind-body experience that encompasses the
physical, emotional, nutritional, and aesthetic
in life.
My goal is to bring modern family cuisine
to my adopted American audience by way of
workshops,
cooking classes and my
cookbook, Pace of Provence.
I am an advocate for incorporating balanced,
well-prepared meals using fresh,
primarily unprocessed ingredients in our
day-to-day lives. In the end I want to show you
how, through efficient planning and
preparation, nutritious and healthy meals
can be as practical and economical
as they are good for you. Whether meals are
enjoyed at home, at school, or at the office, I
will give you tips and ideas on
cooking techniques, menu selection and
presentation.
As a psychologist, I encourage improved
family relationships through the sharing
of meal preparation and experiencing one of the
unique joys of the family life: cooking together
including the children, sitting around a
beautifully prepared table and enjoying
each other's company. I believe that increased
interaction and conversation relieve stress,
strengthen the family unit, and help pave
the foundation for a healthy, loving, family
life.
